Northwest Florida May Events Calendar

Here it is! The Northwest Florida May Events Calendar for 2014. There are several major festivals this month and the calendar is a great way to see what's happening across the region so you can plan your weekends.

May is a busy month starting with Mother’s Day and ending with Memorial Day veterans' tributes, so it's a good month for National Military Spouse Appreciation Day. There's National Teacher Appreciation Day and with the school year ending, it's also the start of the summer tourist season so the beaches will soon be filling up.

May is National Barbecue Month, National Hamburger Month, and National Bike Month, a great time to take your bicycle to one of our state parks for some trail riding. It's also National Photograph Month, so please feel free to post your Northwest Florida photos on our Facebook Page so everyone can share.

Even though you won't find many orange trees here, except in the garden of the Clara Dorr House in Pensacola, National Orange Juice Day is this month, as is National Pick Strawberries Day (yes, we have u-pick farms), National Shrimp Day (try some fresh gulf shrimp at one of our local restaurants), and National Wine Day (one of my favorites).

So, I hope you enjoy browsing through this list of May events and festivals in Northwest Florida, and that you find some fun things to do. Be sure and add your comments about these events (and the fun times you have) to our comments below.

Please note: All times listed on the Northwest Florida May Events Calendar are U.S. Central Time Zone unless otherwise indicated.
